I can see the connection to AIDS, but I also think this song relates to the environment, "man and woman raping from the earth, worming what it's worth..." and "right wing ricochet displays the evolution of decay" might be talking about the right wing or conservatives legislating laws against the environment, or taking away people's rights, or gay rights? Maybe it's referring to how when the AIDS crisis began in the 80's, conservatives thought it was punishment for the gay community so they didn't help... |

This was always my favorite song off this album... I never had any idea it was so political until I read the lyrics just now. . It's obviously anti-war, I'm guessing Vietnam because of the line "killing red in nam". But I think it's mainly meant to be one of Ogre's rambles, with the general idea of violence and killing as a solution... Besides war, the death penalty is discussed, and possibly abortion, the line "It's useless killing children" immediately makes me think of abortion, but it could still be going with the idea of war, and a soldier killing a child, I wonder what they mean with "to satisfy the arms budget". anyway that's my favorite part of one of my favorite songs |

I've been thinking a lot about this song, and all of the comments so far. This has to be one of my favorite songs ever. I think it is a very complex, abstract, confusing work of art that involves several ideas combined to form one main opinion. If all of the spoken word lines seem to have one thing in common, it's that they're all about something depressing. The one line that really opened my eyes was "Instincts evolve". I think this song is a telling of all the terrible things in the world. This way everyone else's theories fit. The samples of Charles Manson are referencing the fact that their are crazy murderers in the world. "Babbler Dabbler" (in reference to drugs) is about the drugs and the bad effects they have on people. The whole "Sloppy mincing eye dropping biopsy" is another murderer line, "Wasted views" still relates to the idea of all the things wrong in the world. I think Nivek is rambling to who we're assuming is his girlfriend Blue, telling her not to give up. "With the right attitude you will succeed blue." Also the music video is a bunch of clips of people being hurt. They're all from horror movies, yet there are no monsters or fake looking scenarios. All of the clips are about the awful things people do to each other. I think the line "Instincts evolve" just made me realize that people are the same as animals, their instinct is to survive and violence is just another way of communicating, only now violence is done through modern ways, like guns and knives and serial killings and all the nasty stuff mentioned in the song. |

This was my favorite song off Mythmaker. I just love the way that bass comes in like a tidal wave of crushing emotion... No idea what it's specifically about though, but it seems to follow the general ideas of the album, of manipulation and trust and relationships coming to an end... I sort of get the feeling it's about a secret that is making someone guilty ("It's and infestation..."). I could be way off |
