Manchester Orchestra – I Can Barely Breathe Lyrics 17 years ago
i think this song deals with gossip and how it affects a person who is wrongfully convicted of something.

the 'dark flood' could refer to a dramatic incident that occured, that no one can disregard because of the enormity it contains. thats when 'citing different opinions' comes in, because everyone is trying to figure out the real story.

normally it's the 'beauties' of the school that gossip, or the 'popular people'. so the phrase 'i watched the beauties, watched the fire/and the fire burn the beauty in their eyes' makes since, because the fire is the gossip that spreads rapid [like a fire] through the school, consuming the 'beauties' who want to spread it more and share their opinions.

someone is normally the culprit of the situation, either if its the truth or not, which refers to the line "someone's got the answer/but i'd rather think there's nothing to be found". this shows that there is truth, but it might not be found because everyone's opinions are cloaked too much 'inside a dirty blanket' by the gossip, or 'fire, to be revealed.

the phrase 'if you knew i was dying would it change you?' is significant, because when people are dying, there is sympathy that surges forth and causes people to evaluate their relationship with the person and ponder some truths about them. when people are swayed by gossip they tend to forget the person's true character in false judged situations, because of all the hype. honest people become decievers by the hand of gossip. so if the victim by gossip were dying, people would stop and wonder would the honest person really decieve, or is everyone overreacting?

'so when you see me falling backwards down the wall that says i'm still alive,
don't be cautious when i'm cautiously approaching on the other side
everybody has their reasons, thats the reason we're all going to die'
this stanza is like the mood of the convicted towards the people that blame them. they don't know who believes them and who doesnt, and dont have the strength to persuade the unconvinced that they are not guilty of whatever the gossip is convicting them of.

'because if seeing is believing,
then believe that we have lost our eyes'
this line shows the stubborness of the gossipers. even if the person is blameless, they still will say hateful things, because they have lost their eyes to seeing the truth right infront of them.

to me this line 'we all deserve something' means that the person accepts that everyone will not believe their side of the story, and someday everyone wont believe theirs.

The Helio Sequence – Don't Look Away Lyrics 17 years ago
I love the flow of this song. such a good beat!

i think it means to live life with energy more than just living by the phrase

'Look into your eyes
Look for something more
Hey now there's a solution'

and tv is a portal for people to see the world around them
but instead of just staring at the tv getting 'distracted'
instead live the life that we're supposed to thrive and become 'loose' in
