Spandau Ballet – To Cut A Long Story Short Lyrics 12 years ago
I always thought it's about post-war male prostitution.
He saw the soldier like a saviour (in the white light), but soon he had to run from those stranger soldiers, separated from his family and got to survive as he could (war upon war / heat upon heat)

then, years away from fighting, he's cruising in the park.
"Standing in the dark
Oh I was waiting for man to come
I am beautiful and clean
And so very very young
To be standing in the street
To be taken by someone"

the strange boy receives a lot of nasty questions, but no one can explain what's the point in the war that completely shredded his life.

to cut a long story shot, he lost his mind.

Frankmusik – Done Done Lyrics 16 years ago
*Exactly* what happened to me. The same ol' thing i suppose.

btw, i'd love to see some analysis of this lyrics, since something is quite slang and i understand it but not PERFECTLY as i want.

something as "and even tho i'm not sold"

oh, and the "I know I sort of pushed you away
But even if I had enough time I doubt you would have stayed" is a powerful, common, imagery.

Hercules and Love Affair – Time Wil Lyrics 16 years ago
Despite te fact that, yeah, this lyrics misses something (something gibberish anyway), it's a song about living in a relationship without balance, with confused roles.
I personally had relationship like that and this song explained perfectly my feelings

it's about living with someone older and scared about feelings and relationships and being the younger yet smarter one.

the younger one ask his love not to lie to him, not to make things unecessary complicated.
he's young and he doesn't have nothing to lose, he wants to follow his lover ("his muse"), to share things with him and to slow down things and relax ("lay with me"), maybe in a childish way but he knows how to make things work.

the older one is the one that got experience and despite his age is the one who still have something to prove, something to learn: maybe improving his behaviour ("don't lie to me, don't sneak it up") ("can't be at half a wife")

His misbehaviour eventually leads to the end of the relationship (maybe the older one wanted it, but he didn't have the guts to take the decision) and the younger one says he has to think about himself now, that he cannot fix the situation but time will, maybe he's still hurt but he moves on ("my heart won't stand still"), still thinking about him and the pointless situation ("cannot hold half a life / be at half a wife" it explains a unfair situation between them) and wishing time will change things he couldn't.

still, i have an alternative interpretation of that "i cannot chage you but time WILL", that will sounds pretty harsh, something like "you'll think about this one day and you'll regret, but i won't be here anymore" ("my heart won't stay still")

it's a great song. helped me figure out things in harsh times.

I love this song.
It's harsh.

I think it describes how's like when you never feel at home, in your place, and you have to struggle to survive alone in a metaphorical sense.

Lali Puna – Left Handed Lyrics 17 years ago
This is my favourite LaliPuna song, i've been thinking a lot about my past, about a relationship that gone bad and i found this song suits me very well:

"When we turn
turn to what we’ve done before"

She may generalizes (we - all) or maybe she's talking about a past relationship that gone bad (we - couple)

"The time moves on.
Survive without a point of view"

When you think about the past, you're wasting time and energies, the time moves on, the days pass by but you can't make sense anyway, because you're not sharing points of view.
You're arguing with yourself, but you lack in widespread vision.
You can't solve your problem unless you're not moving forward, you simply survive blindly.

"Slump Down"

(we) slump down, because the past is the past, and you can't change your past.
You can't find a sense, or if you find it, probably it's not useful anymore. Or it is painful.

"We’ve been let down.
Equally"

And maybe you eventually come to the conclusion that the other person has been deceived, let down, hurt the same way by you. Or maybe we all have been deceived by time, because things just didn't turn out well due to a set of unfortunate events.
When the anger fades and the time passes, you come to that conclusion eventually.

I'm left-handed. some people finds this fact as weird, but to me it's totally natural.
Maybe it's only a fact of points of views, maybe the song talks about this.

What do you think?
