This was apparently about the best blow job he ever had... looking at the lyrics it seems pretty plausible...

Beyoncé – If I Were a Boy Lyrics 17 years ago
This song means very little to me lol. Its hardly examining the real depths of people's relationships is it; it looks at a stereotypical role of a boy, one we've all heard of before. And its kind of sexist really, concentrating on just the boys fucking up when generally it takes two to achieve the kind of relationship she's on about. Plus, I'm fairly sure girls can do the same damage...
And sadly the music doesn't make up for it - extremely repetitive. No, there is nothing groundbreaking about this song...but for the market beyonce aims at its sufficient to do well, and makes for easy listening i guess.

Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics 17 years ago
One verse is..."there was a time you'd let me know" ect. The rest of it is about the rest of the relationship, making love just being one part of it. Each to his own tho...

Joni Mitchell – A Case Of You Lyrics 17 years ago
Fell in love with this song first time i heard it...

love for her is so much more than emotional; its spiritual, 'holy wine' it is literally part of her like a faith would be 'your in my blood', and changes her and makes her who she becomes 'part of you pores out of me...'.

'Im a lonely painter' is simply her trying to say who she is i think... someone who usually prefers to keep to herself in her own world and is hard to reach emotionally (live in a box of paints), but the person who isn't afraid of the devil could be her partner, meaning he possibly is a negative influence on her but she can't help being maybe naive and 'drawn to' this person.

Who 'the woman' is is irrelevant to her i think, she can only think of her partner at this point ('she had a mouth like yours) and this is despite being seemingly removed from him (the woman says 'go to him').

Truly a painful, if beautiful, love.

The Killers – Human Lyrics 17 years ago
Yes, i think you have the right idea with the puppet thing...'Dancer' to me is structered routine, nice to watch and possibly fun to do; I think he could have used the word 'Dancer' as opposed to 'puppet' possibly because we don't realise the strings are there? There's the illusion that we control where the 'dance' so to speak is going? Like he says 'I did my best to notice when the call came down the line' but he really wasn't aware of his life moving or even ending. It wasn't his choice. And the singular thing is perhaps because we're not a group of separate beings, we all simply are manoueverd as one.

It's the 'so long to devotion' thing that interest me i think...it's like he's spent his life in this dance, and at death he's almost aware of it (hence the end to his devotion to it) and is wondering possibly what his life was? I wonder who he's speaking to as well, in the second half of the song...
