| Deep Purple – Blind Lyrics

This song is clearly about loneliness, and how you just don't see the important things in life, as if you were blind. I also think that it is about how peoples lifes can change so fast and sometimes just collapse over one night. It is strange that no one has commented this song before me.. I love this song so much, I would say that it is one of the best songs ever written by deep purple. |

"love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer". I think this quote wants to say that man kind always have tried to find the answer to its questions about life but the answer is in how we behave against eachother (nobody bleeds for the dancer). the answer to happiness for yourself is in sacrificing yourself to other human beings and appreciate the sacrifices they make for you. Obviously Dio beliefs that the world we live in is too egoistic, "the world is full of kings and queens who blind youre eyes and steal your dreams" and "when you walk in golden halls you get to keep the gold that falls" are quotes that describes the mistakes we made while creating this cold, selfish society. |

| Black Sabbath – Children Of The Sea Lyrics

This song is about our earth and how we ruin it. The children of the sea are simply the animals, who we are killing, indirect and direct. "oh they say that its over..." |

I think I've found the meaning of this song, though it could be just a reflection of my own feelings... u never know:p
anyway
The door (which he sings on and on about) symbolises to me the option, the rescue, the way to a better place (happiness). And "you" is probably some girl he is in love with (usually when a guy writes a song "you" is a girl:p). So "the door is opened if you're true", he thinks that everything will get better if she just notices him. But when the door cracks open, there is no sun shining through! nothing is or will be as it seemed and all his dreams are shattered. Now desperation is coming into the song, he wanted only to see the sun, if just the door would open, if she just is true... but the sun still doesnt shine... Then we have the tragical lines in the end... the door is closed so are your eyes but now I see the sun... these words always send shivers down my spine, even before I started thinking of what the song meant! I think this is when he "dies" inside of himself, he gives up all hope, she disappears (maybe not literally but at least out of his life) and everything is ended. He finally gets to see the sun, but not even the sun is what it seemed... so tragic... |

| The Rolling Stones – Paint It Black Lyrics

I think the song is about the Vietnam war. "I see a red door and I want to paint it black"... I think that what they want to say here is that the red door represents the "red option", meaning communism. To paint it black is to destroy it, to eliminate it, exactly what USA tried to do in Vietnam. It could have something to do with someones girlfriend though... could it be a mix of depression of private reasons and the worlds problems? |
