I love this song. The first part describes a theme that has appeared in previous albums - how the character loved his belief in God, but how he can't rationalize a God which both loves us and let's there be pain in the world. It also nods at the motif in On Letting Go where there is betrayal through the disillusionment of what he was taught growing up (in the second verse not being able to trust a girl because he was betrayed by his most fundamental beliefs). There is a feeling of despair in that no matter how much effort you put forth you can never find God. I feel there is still a sliver of hope with the character, though, in the lines: Doesn't have to be something I can see. Oh, I don't know what to believe. Doesn't have to be something I can feel. Oh, I don't know what is real. It sounds like the character would be grateful for any sort of spiritual connection. But in the end it returns to the thought that having that hope that will leave you empty in the end. |

When I found out about the Lord, I wanted more, but I never could believe. That there was something that had so much love for us that could to sit and let us bleed today. Then she showed me all her love and I couldn't trust; my gaurd was already up. Cause the foundation of beliefs that have shaped my youth, I found out they weren't true - at all. God, money, and women will turn you mad; always reaching for something that you can't have. God, money, and women will bring you down; always searching for something that's never found. Doesn't have to be something I can see. Oh, I don't know what to believe. Doesn't have to be something I can feel. Oh, I don't know what is real. You got to say our lives. You got to say our lives. You got to say our lives. You got to say our lives. God, money, and women will turn you mad; always reaching out for something that you can't have. God, money, and women will break your heart - crush your soul and leave you empty and torn apart. |

| Circa Survive – Mandala Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This song is actually what it's called: a mandala (albeit in audible form). It is just a few ideas that are designed to get the mind thinking about high level ideas, just like a mandala is designed for meditation and spiritual teaching. Here is a breakdown of the different thoughts (they remind me of kÅan): "Dance with me / For I'll be leaving soon" - We only have a short time here so spend it with other people and enjoy them. "The afterbirth on the keypads overwhelm" - How technology has changed how we live (new generations are now born with it). "Did he who make the lamb make thee"? - Can someone that created good have also created evil? (This is a quote from a poem that asks this ["thee" is a tiger]) "In a cartoon house / In a cartoon car" - A look at the meaning of material objects - in the grand scheme of things worrying about houses and cars is like worrying about cartoons. "There are cities buried underneath our cities" - We are who we are because of those in our ancestors and we should be thankful for what we have because of the work of others before us. "Let the people see we so obviously had another hand And so separated / How can I act like I've made this when I so obviously had another hand." - No one is alone in this world or in their accomplishments. Don't forget all the support that you have been given from whatever the source. Be humble in your success and don't forget to help others, as you've been helped by others. |

There is a critical typo in the lyrics and its in the line: "So that people who are hearing are confused" should be "So that people who are hearing AREN'T confused" This song is about Anthony's journey as an artist and where he currently is (a motif that appears throughout the EP). He is looking at what he wants to be doing with his songs. The first four lines are basically saying he is willing to rework every line when he is writing a song to make sure his message is conveyed. He then describes that his purpose is to convey these messages so other can learn and he should "leave a trail" of the journeys he has gone through so others don't have to go through the same thing. The next part is about his struggles doing it and how he has come to a "revelation". The final part is advice saying "don't go through the same pitfalls" but rather find your own path and learn from the songs. And again reiterating how he wants to make sure those that listen get his message. |

| I think that was a response to the guy that said this wasn't a "prequel" to AW. A prequel to the AW could be all about TWW, as he is the creator and where the story has it's start. | |

Okay, so this is what I think the whole album might be. In "Welcome Home", TWW sees himself killing EC. I used to think that was only a hallucination or dream, but now I'm wondering if he is "remembering" (in a fucked up way) how he killed EC. At the beginning, it seems like there is a conflict between two people. As the album goes on, it is revealed more and more that the man loves the woman, but the relationship isn't working. Then it reveals in the Flame of Error that the man is "a murderer, the worst these worlds have seen". He killed the one he loved (or possibly made her take her own life), and regrets it. He wants her to live longer (ITFOE) and fulfills her dying wish (WSL). In The Black Rainbow, he realizes that it's over and his world is coming apart. I think during this whole time, the world of Amory Wars is being created. TWW becomes crazy at some point (as evident in GA1 when he is talking to a bicycle), and this could be the point. "Breaking", which is used often in the songs, could be referring to TWW breaking into the character "Claudio", and possibly the others in the story. He also used the word "we" a lot, even though it seems like he is referring to himself only. In the end, he believes his world is over, and then "while [he] was sleeping, [they] were stealing his home", meaning that the characters of AW took over TWW's mind. Of course, this is just one story I could think for the CD. Another one is possibly the story of the doctor and his love, and his creation of the KBI. |

| The Fall of Troy – F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E.P. Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I thought that a guy is doing something dangerous and regrets doing it because of his love for another girl and realising how much he loves her and he just wants to spend time with her. --I know that you really wanna go, --Your mind is runnin' outta gas just relax and recap and relapse tonight. --My body's jumpin' and I, go through the motions, --And I'm leaving on this journey, maybe someday I'll come running back to you! I think this part is describing right before he is about to leave, and that the girl wants to go with him to help/be with him and that she is afraid. --Her heart, in my hands, it's too bad, no regrets... --I don't wanna see the day, her tears are falling on my grave. He knows that she loves him and that it will end up in her being hurt if he dies. --(come running home, come running home!) --This is my one chance to take back, no regrets... Him telling himself to go home or stop doing what he is doing. --Let's go! --I just wanna let you know, this situation leaves me outta breath. Him deciding to leave and telling her that he hates his situation too. --I only think about her, must get to her, cannot lose her... Him realising that she's the most important thing to him. --You know that I will not let this die, life support systems and my mind on rewind and rewind and rewind! Either he is thinking all of this after he has been hurt bad, dying, or before he gets to that point. He wants to go back and spend his time with her. |
