to me it kind of sounds like maybe they were like "summer loves" and as the summer turns back to autumn/winter their relationship turned sour? and about the driving away part, maybe he's on holiday or has to go back to college/university or something. i don't know. this is such a beautiful song, i adore it. |

i agree with all the takes on this song but mine's a tiny bit different. i've been in love with this guy who i'm quite good friends with for abour a year now. when me + ex got together all i could do is think about the other guy i was (and still am) in love with + wished that my ex was him etc. so maybe it's not even an ex that she thought was amazing, it could be she's in love with someone who isn't her boyfriend? i don't know, that's just how i see it (: amazing songg! i've become obsessed with katy perry lately :D |

the video for this kind of explains the song. the first few verses are about girls he thinks he's in love with but it turns out he's not for whatever reason. then the last verse "she got a smile that.." etc is a girlfriend he really is in love with and he like, finally realises what love really is. |
