I can understand the familiarity to this song much like lax did. Really does sound closer to Soundgarden than Chris had been for a good long while instrumentally. It also explains why many people don't like it, because they are used to feeling out the very Ragey instrumentals, but I can say I do miss songs that sound like this from the man. It is an interesting love song that does seem to draw most of all from the dissonance between the low guitar and steady drums along with the harmony of Chris's voice. In the end I figure it is about trying to convince someone that while it seems you are filled with bad that you will only try to be good for them. Something that as a musician must follow him around from time to time. |

For me this song is about taking control. It could be from a boss who has been running your life for so long but does not seem to grasp the magnitude of the effect he has on your everyday well being. It could be with a significant other who has kept you under heel a long time. It doesn't really matter, as long as they own you to a degree and don't seem to take that seriously. You finally rise for a moment of confrontation. Getting to them who you have been to them for so long and what that has stirred in you. What you plan to do with that newfound inspiration. Tell them why this rose up inside you, of all they have done to you. Then wrench the controls from their hands however you see fit. Murder. Rape. Consensual sex of the most pitiful sort. It doesn't matter, as long as you get your message in nice and clear. As long as by the end you feel that divine superiority they once had and you've taken with the power you could bet the doubted you had. And you may be losing something big by no longer being their slave, but if there is any good you know you got it is that no matter how deep you fall they will always be lower now. |

Heh well unusually the acronym popularity that spawned the Fuck The World acronym and the internet revolution of dumbasses(that unfortunately enough I am part of) that caused the For The Win acronym fell to popularity at about the same time. Assured Fuck the World existed first, but nobody acronyzed it till we started doing it to everything. Tell the truth it grants some positivity. When it was just fuck the world it showed powerful social depression. xB Here the MC shows the strangity that is nowadays which allows us to make even being lame something cool to be when you are working the right places. |
