This song is beautiful, it reminds me of a friend, but I'm sure the song is about chasing your dreams and love for something - whether its a person or a goal in life. The 'hope' represents what the person has or has been holding on to and the thought of loosing that 'hope' scares him because he's not sure what will become of himself if the one thing he ever followed/held on to/ or chased after is gone, no longer there. I think of this song in terms of a love so powerful between two people, but for some reason, despite them being soul mates, it was never able to work out (them finally being able to be together). but no matter where he went he had her as his 'hope', the thought of her kept him going, kept him striving and chasing, knowing that one day their time together would finally come. But then he comes to find out that she's getting married (she has a new 'hope') therefore she gets to continue on with hope in her life, she gets to hold on and he has to let go of his hope because now its gone. And now he's lost and is no longer sure who he is... what will he fight for anymore in his life if the one thing, the one thought he held on to is now gone? this is such a sad and beautiful song to me, thought i'd share the feeling and imagery I get when I hear this song. -See you in another life, this one was not ours for the taking. |

| this song doesnt need to be strong lyrically. it makes perfect sense and its wonderfull. Finally figured out that big cities and lots of people doesnt make one happy...its the opposite that does. That is why he moved down to mexico and his lyrics now arnt so whiney yet they are happy and talk alot about how the sun and nature cures things/being outside in general. | |

they are talking about people who sell out or are trying to at least. bands who have great potential but use it for all the wrong reasons. You cant succeed happily if your character is fake. the greatest part about this song is this verse "See, you and me were meant to be instrumental We are guardians in this world" ahhh love it. it is so true...music has been my guardian angel:) |

Bascially this song is about the music scene and the direction it has gone in. They are first mentioning that fame should be saved for someone who truely deserves it. refering clones to people who arnt real or true to thei music.(just copy cats) when he would first hear new music with unique style and potential he would fall in love with it. But then the "sworm came along" "taught everybody their song" and their numbers blocked out the sun. endless amounts of bands just started taking over someones style but not in a good way they didnt make it their own they would make it just like the origanl band. So in conclusion he is saying that if this who he should be now or be catorgized as then he doesnt want anymore of it. this is just what i got from the song?? or it could just be another typical song about a man whore..lolz |
