This song is very beautiful, what with the music, words, and vocals, along with the underlying meaning. At first, it puts off the impression that it's about drugs, but if you think about the words over and over again, and apply them to what they might mean in your life.... This is what I got. In this song, dream is prefered over reality. In your dreams, you feel almost flawless ("I cannot stumble here"). Reality is hectic, crazy, and so full of chaos ("I'll come back to this mess"). "Pinch me, is this real, this feeling of release?" I translate this to... Life isn't as good as this, this can't be real. So, if you think about it, drugs and dreams are similar euphorias, seeing as the same words and lines can be traced between the two. |
