I agree with Shiboo. However, during my own interpretation -- which I will not post because what I thought has already been posted -- I noticed something which could/should be considered personal opinion, but I guess it's also interpretation. 'The genitals of happiness, The neutered almighty god.' The cow, in this song, is symbolic of corruption in religion; however, in Hinduism, the cow is a sacred animal, and is thus treated with the utmost respect. The idea that the 'almighty god' is 'neutered' is a way of saying that, now neutered, the 'cow' will not be able to breed, thus bringing its reign, (religion, overall, in this song,) to an end. Of course, in other religions, the cow is symbolic, as well, thus bringing up another interesting point; in Islam, cattle are slain as a method of sacrifice, another way to honour a god that Kyo is, as Shiboo said, mocking in these lyrics. But overall, it is about blood being spilled over religion, yes. |
