I think this is a really fun, well written song. 'starsfinallyxplode' thank you for the info, makes sense. To the retards on this site, isn't it obvious that this song isn't the 'song' that fall out boy stole? It was probably just the 'dance dance' phrase, or the idea of dancing and pop punk romance... (seem cool to the kids) or maybe even a vocal line or something minor. And it's suspicious how some of you have brothers/girlfriends/mothers/dead pets that know this band personally... |

I think all you guys are pretty much right. I think the 'all i wanted to be was one of your children' could mean alot of things from a religious perspective, but i reckon it could be the fact nowadays it is alot easier and common for people to be athiest, mixed beleifs etc. So maybe it's his cynical dig at growing up with religious beleifs but now dismissing them, and him realising the obviously nonsence mess which christianty claims. It is certainly anti religion - 'all the hidden messages you hear, they aren't real, you tricked your mind to feel' easily back this idea. Amazing song, great vocal line on 'all i wanted to be was one of your children' :) |

I'm suprised nobody's paying much attention to common market on this site :( He's one of the most articulate and 'real life' hip hop artists about! No gangster bollocks. This song is really moving, makes me think about my newly distant childhood. I think it's pretty easy to figure out, his journey from his home to his new life and the differances, memories, history etc. The ending of the 2nd verse into outro is really good :) |
