Just when I thought no one understood the song, it seems not everyone is as brainless. Chrysis88 - you got it right. It's actually your second theory. The song was meant to tell a story of a zombie outbreak. If you pay close attention, the guy is actually from Chicago, somehow joins the FBI in Florida, finds love in the mists and lives there for awhile signifying the "we sit and drink all day". At the end, he must've been bitten by a zombie when he says "Too late now, too late to tell me what I've become", and end up in a big, white house to turn into one - that's the end of his story. The song has so much meaning to someone that is a zombie lover. I can understand how it confused most people. And yes - when the song did come out with the Left 4 Dead game, it 'should've' gave away the major clue. |
