it seems like, he's talking about a lover who feels she's inadequate, not enough for him. and all she can think about is her past, and the lyrics relive and retell her past (which probably wasn't a good one) and he's comforting her telling her she's worth more than her past has allowed her to be. i feel like the actual song is a reassurance that there's more to life than what people make it seem. she is the beauty in a wicked world.. that's what i think. Whatever it may be, everyone interprets music in a different way according to personal experiences. All in all, this song is MY beauty in my wicked world. |

god the screaming at the end of the song is PURE genius, it's my favorite part. but i wish i knew more about how the song is related to the White Stripes. To me? When i first heard this song.. it sounded as if it was about society, kind of. but who knows? great song though... |

to me the whole part about "look me in the eye and tell me you don't think I'm attractive..." sounds to me like someone standing there telling their lover/bf/gf or whatever to tell them all the things they loved about them before, and they can't (hence "Look me in the heart and unbreak broken, it won't happen"). So the song,to me, seems like two people realizing that they can't even fool each other that they are in love. and no matter how much the singer is broken up about it, they cannot shield the fact that their love is dying. i mean, that's what i got out of it. |
