| The Killers – Under the Gun Lyrics | 15 years ago |

She's got her halo and wings hidden under his eyes. But she's an angel for sure. She just can't stop tellin' lies. But it's too late for his love; Already caught in a trap. His angel's kiss was a joke, and she is not coming back. -He thinks she's the greatest thing ever, but everyone else thinks otherwise. No matter how much everyone else tries to tell him that she's bad for him, he doesn't listen. She's not even with him anymore, but he still thinks he has a chance with her. Because heaven sends and heaven takes Crashing cars in his brain Keep him tied up to a dream And only she can set him free And then he says to me, "Kill me now, kill me now, kill me now, kill me now Kill me now, kill me now, kill me now, kill me now" -He's got a lot of conflict. He knows she was bad, but refuses to believe it. Easier to just end it all than it is to admit he was wrong about her. Yeah she's got a criminal mind He's got a reason to pray His life is under the gun He's got to hold every day Now he just wants to wake up Yeah, just to prove it's a dream Cause she's an angel for sure But that remains to be seen -She doesn't want to let go of him completely. She's still stringing him along for whatever reason. He's got a lot of pressure on him to leave, but he just doesn't want to. |

| John Mayer – Edge Of Desire Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Late last year, I broke up with the only girl I ever truly loved. It wasn't easy, and shook us both to the core. Now, our respective best friends (who introduced us to one another) are getting married. She decides she can't go about the rest of her life trying to keep her distance from me. She sent me a message saying she wanted to be friends again on the condition that I show no romantic interest in her. It's only been a few weeks, but she's having a hard time sticking to her own rule. For me, I'm scared she'll grow complacent with being friends and that my door will be shut. That's how I feel about this song. I still love her, and I would do whatever it takes just to be able to tell her that again. Everyone can see that she still loves me, but we just can't spit it out. Her reasons are rooted in faith (pleasing her parents) and my reasons are rooted in sociology (never get back with an ex). Either way, we would both have to cast a few beliefs aside. I just wish she would drop her shield, and stop trying to hide. So, yes, I feel like I can connect with this song. |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – This Velvet Glove Lyrics | 16 years ago |

To me, this song seems to be about a new start. Frusciante had just come out of a rough patch in his life. When he rejoined with the rest of the band, he had grown wiser. The velvet glove is a symbol of gentleness. They've pretty much cooled down from their days of BloodSugarSexMagik, and have only grown more in-tune with the velvet glove, as opposed to the iron fist. |

| To me, this song sounds like an epic bravado. | |
| The Killers – Bling (Confession of a King) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

For some reason, this song sounds more like an unjust rise to power than an alcoholic father. Metaphors included. Perhaps someone who used shady methods to become king(running with the devil, leaving trails of excuses) and is trying to be more than he really can. That's just how it sounds to me. |
