THIS IS MY FAV. PAOLO NUTINI SONG i agree with pretty much everyone about what the song is about. i love the honesty in his voice in the live version. I can never get tired of listening to it. For me personally its reminds me of how theres always that need for me to talk to the person who broke up w me so I can have closure. <3Paolo |

Well I saw an interview of Caleb and Nathan, Nathan said Sex on Fire is obviously a saw about sex, but he doesnt know where Caleb got it from since he's saving himself for marriage. eghh....just thought Id put that in there w.e significance it may or may not be :| |

Alright, this is what I get out of it: "tell me the one about the friend you knew and the last good night that we toasted too" ---Its telling a story of a girl from the past that left him and about their last night together. "Salty leave, stay for me, stay for me We drank wine in the matinee and the spotlight showed what I chased away" ---they 'broke up' on a bitter note. He reminisces about that last night about how little didnt realized/know he was chasing her away "Stay for me She saw my comb over, her hourglass body she has problems with drinking milk and being school tardy She'll loan you her toothbrush she'll bartend your party" ---He's still heartbroken and wishes she wouldnt leave, but she realizes that he's not "cool enough" for her [comb over] and that she's too good for him [her hourglass body]. The reference to milk is that in the same way milk is good for you, he felt he was the right one for her, but she was too "cool" for that. The reality of it is, she's just a superficial girl who's just into the party lifestyle "Kill me, kill me I called and called, but I can't get through, said he's on his own, but his own is you" ---The heartbreak is killin him because he truly cared for her. He called and tried to get her to take him back, but she didn't care cause she's with someone else already. That 'someone else' happens to be someone close to him that lies saying he's not with anyone, when the truth is that they're with the girl he loved.
