doesn't surprise me, mastodons albums, songs, etc. often have more than one meaning, and are also able to be interpreted in other ways. e.g. all there albums are concept albums (well, not really remission, and im not including the call of the mastodon) and they also stick to a certain theme. remission-fire, leviathan-water, blood mountain-earth, crack the skye-air, and that leaves aether. anyways, they are concept albums AND stick to a theme. and there songs are the same, typically a specific event, for this song fighting the whale, and any other event (whether it be modern, etc.) which in this case, like u said, pollution. its very impressive, both the lyrical content and the music. |
