Well... Really short I'd say that the song is about a girl - Angie - who's fooling around with Gabe, and she doesn't want to have anything serious with him "You were just having fun" ... But he wants to be with her "I give you all I got, Angie can't we just find a way?" But at the same time he understands that she feels that way "So here's the thing, Yeah you know that I'm a man, Who can understand The way it's gotta be If you need room to breathe" and he'll wait for her but still he won't wait forever.. Haha.. Pretty obvious to me (:

Yeah, what you mention would make sense.. But then again.. A lot of things like "Miss Flack" and stuff wouldn't make sense... But it would make sense to why it's spelled "Donnie" instead of "Donny" if it's referring to Donny and Roberta.... But it could also just be to confuse and not make it totally obvious that it's referring to Donny and Roberta... 'Cause I don't think Pete likes making things really obvious.. ^^, |

... Oh! But I think Pete should have made himself "Donny" instead of "Miss Flack", cause Donny committed suicide, so it woulf fit that way... (except that Pete didn't die, of course - thank God for that!!) ... But then again.. The thoughts about the bad selfesteem and that stuff could easily be the way that Donny was feeling when he committed suicide, so that would make sense... (Not that Patrick is about to commit suicide! :b) ... Sigh. Anyway... I'll stop talking before I say something stupid XD |

I would loooooove it to be a "Donnie Darko" reference... But Pete answered a question at FOBROCK.COM about this song and the "Miss Flack" and he said something about Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack, too.. It's weird that they spell it "Donnie" and not "Donny" though.. Hm..

Well.. I guess the song's just about this girl who just doesn't love him anymore. I don't think he has done anything wrong.. She's just stopped loving him and he don't see why.. Well, that what I'd get from "Cause I didn't treat you rough, so please don't go changing".. But then there's all this "Sorry's not good enough" like he HAS done something and she doesn't think, that "sorry" is good enough for her to forgive him.. It could also mean, that he's a bit frustrated about the fact that she's stopped loving him even though he hasn't done anything to her. There's nothing to say sorry for and that's why the problem can't be solved with a "sorry", Sorry's not good enough..
I know this isn't about the video that much, but the video seems to say, that he HAS done something, because she kicks him in the croch in the end. But maybe she just thinks, that he's being a jerk cause he can't accept, that it's over? .. Hmmm.. XD |

I also think, that it fits very well with the "She Falls Asleep" thing and then the "And how was I to know, that a year ago.." would say that it's a year since her suicide and he still hasn't moved on yet. I also agree on the alcohol thing, now that I've read all the views on that one. I haven't thought of that myself. I also thought that "Down goes another one" was like "Another one's comitted suicide now.." Like that happens all the time. Well, it does.. At least it's not unusual. I agree with Kankz on the thing with "you're just another one" that it could be like either she's just another one comitting suicide (which also would fit the "down goes another one") or that she's another one leaving him.. It's a really great song :D |

I'll just add something XD .. I just read, that "Down Goes Another One" From Radio:ACTIVE is about this guy who's left after her suicide. It makes a lot of sence actually. But I think that's a proof for her comitting suicide (for those who don't think that she dies).. Anyway, Everybody's in their right to have an opinion and a way to understand the song, so I'm saying, that it isn't a possibility that she doesn't die. But it makes sence, if she does.. (: |

It's a bit weird, 'cause through the whole song there's just singing to this "surfer babe" that they want her and stuff like that. But in the beginning they sing:

I absolutely LOVE this song, it's so beautiful. I cried the first time I heard it. It's really sad. Yeah, it's obvious, that it's about this girl with problems, who comits suicide.. I sense some kind of love story, too, though. Like Tom would be the friend who kind of "watches" and can't do anything about her problems, and then there's another guy who the girl's in love with, who she hopes will help her, maybe by loving her, but he doesn't know that she love him. Maybe he realises in the end, but then it's too late.. Anyway, just my thoughts.. Great song (: |
