I often took this song as a lullaby-approach to children, especially given the first two lines: "Wer tutes Gut dem wird vergeben/So seid recht gut auf allen Wegen". It sounds like Till is singing to his child before he/she sleeps. It is a beautiful song, and one I would not have expected from a vocalist with such a naturally aggressive voice to pull off so well. |

I agree that Insomnium do indeed have melodic death metal down to a fine art, every song they have crafted is purely amazing. Interpretation: This song is a metaphor for the union and separation of a relationship. The two people are referred to as "wind" and "fire", two opposing forces joined for a brief moment in harmony. But, unfortunately, "wind grew to a storm/and fire to a burning pile", and the couple separated unhappily. The simplicity of these lyrics really drive home the message behind them. I commend Insomnium on an amazing musical career, and wish them the best in future ventures. |
