something just doesnt ring true about this. i'm sure elliott knew some people would think that though. elliott often layered metaphors in his songs. further more, elliott was not a cold human being, a cold human being wouldnt slip $100 bills into homeless peoples shoes, set up charities for abused kids, write the songs that he wrote, etc. |

um...ok you must not know a lot about elliott, because he would never write or sing that. i'm pretty sure it's "sugar, lift me up." although i don't know what it is, no one does except for elliott, but i think it's pretty obvious these lyrics are wrong. |

this is the only elliott smith song i cannot listen to, it's so dark. i love him though. there is a creepy voice singing "because we love you" and i found out that it is jennifer chiba. i don't know what she did or didnt do, but i can't help but wish that i was his girlfriend and things would have turned out differently. |

since high school i wondered who dallow, spicer, pinkie & cubitt were...they are characters from brighton rock which i recently saw. i always thought that the song was about someone contemplating suicide at a dysfunctional family get together, but with the reference to brighton rock, it's probably more to do with that. i thought maybe it was from rose's point of view, but then again she wasnt really friends with pinkie's friends as far as i know. |

cornflake girls suck but when you hang out with the raisin girls long enough you realize some of them are really just cornflake girls in disguise. i think that's why in the video, the "raisin girls" are in the back of her truck and she looks through her rearview at them, observing them as part of her past. |
