This is Britney's response to what has happened over the past couple of years. She's been given shit after shit in the press and she's just saying "love me, hate me, say what you want about me, but all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F U C K ME". I have a funny feeling that the line "can't you see what I see" is a direct comment to the play on words. Anyway, I really shouldn't be in this section... *runs back to rock music* |

It's about John Lennon and Mark Chapman. Axl got inspiration to write the song after watching a documentary about Lennon's death and Chapman's obsession with the book Catcher in the Rye. The verses are, as Axl says, like from Holden's perspective (Holden being the main character in the book). The final verse is talking more directly about Lennon's murder and the impact it had. |
