This song was written about Kelcey Ayer's mother, who passed away recently. With that in mind, this song is so freaking sad...and beautiful nonetheless. |

I'm not much help when it comes to figuring out meaning in songs, but I couldn't agree with you more. I've listened to this album about ten times in the last two days...can't get enough. |

This song is clearly about the artists mixed emotions on the proposed health care system. On one end, some people need the government assistance and on the other, some people will take advantage of the system. It's tearing him apart. |

I'm not even going to get into the meaning of this song but I discovered Of Montreal a week ago at Bonnaroo and this was their encore selection. Everyone in the band was playing as usual and slowly but surely each member destroyed their instruments on stage as the song kept play. The energy from the crowd was unbeleiveable!! |

Here's a typical males perspective but this is what I honestly think of when I hear the song.
I think it's about a boy and girl who are really good friends and on the brink of admitting they are in love with eachother. They meet that point where it's obvious and the boy starts coming onto her physically and she resists or is uncomfortable because she knows it will change everything if they go further. And just when she gives in to her urges, the boy sees her point of view and is also having second thoughts. by the time he finally convinces himself that is is, in fact, in love with her it's too late.
What a great song. |
