This song reminds me of one of my best friends who died two weeks ago after a motorcycle accident. He was just 18 years old. We have been close friends for 5 years. We were voted Best All Around together this past year and we recently graduated with honors sitting side-by-side. There were over 2500 people that came to his visitation and over 500 that came to the funeral. He was THE kindest person I know, and I love him with all my heart. The line, "Would you see the world? Would you chase your dreams? Settle down with a family? I wonder, what would you name your babies?" always makes my heart hurt. |

I think this song could be about someone dying. Gary Allan covered this song for his wife after she passed away. It's really sad when you listen to it, even though there is a bit of a sarcastic tone ("It's not so bad, you're only the best I ever had"). One of my best friends passed away 2 weeks ago after a motorcycle accident. He had just celebrated his 18th birthday two weeks before then. I heard this song in my iTunes a few days ago, and until then I had never really listened to the words. It describes exactly how I feel. I listened to it and cried my eyes out. Best friends: One boy, one girl. "Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong." The girl goes off to look for herself and get experience out in the world without the boy, but returns. "Now that she's back in the atmosphere with drops of Jupiter in her hair." He loves her. "First dance, freeze-dried romance." etc. And he wants to know if she feels the same way he does. "Did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there." He's afraid that after everything she's seen and how much she's changed that she'll think he's boring and not good enough to be her best friend (or more) anymore. "I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane." He also wants to know if she found someone better than him while she was out there. "Did you fall for a shooting star, one without a permanent scar." And he's opening himself up to her and bringing back memories that they made together. "Love, pride, deep fried chicken... five-hour phone conversation, the best soy latte that you ever had and me." Just my interpretation. This song has plenty of meanings. :D |

| I just saw Train this week at Riverbend in Chattanooga. They dedicated this song to everyone in the military and all their families. I believe that is what this song is about. This is one of my favorites :D | |
