it's so sad to know that probably everyone has been through what this song talks about. Being on one side of the fence...it so so upsettttiinng. I remember when I first started dating my current boyfriend which was almost 5 years ago he was with another girl and she was toying him...and we would talk over AIM late night and make common jokes about the situation and he started to talk about fiona apple and I started to listen to her and I was about 15. That was the perfect age for me to be introduced to her...and He played this song for me in the car one day..and I just started to cry! cause I was so the " So.. for the time I'm being patient." Eventually he was going back and forth between us and one day he told me he loved me. It was the song itself. I droped everything and we have been together since. just so weird how one song can put ur relationship together for you... |

I have to agree with MO79. I deffinately think its just a song about manipulation. Its my favorite song of all times. I can relate to it in any fashion not even relationship wise..just manipulation. Something that can tend to get easy for me so it really hit me when I first listened to it and she said "you'll yeild to me like a scent in the breeze" then I finally gave it another listen and related to the lyrics. |
