| Coheed and Cambria – The Ring in Return Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's explained in the new comics! In the beginning of IKS, Claudio has returned home after having been through all of his trials and tribulations (He obviously still has more to do though, so I'm assuming it's still before NWFT). He calls Newo, "Hello?" but hangs up as he has been doing for awhile now. Apollo, Newo's dog, finds Claudio outside of Newo's house, and he begins to tell the tale of IKS to Apollo: "Hello, Apollo. Where should I begin?" | |
| Prize Fighter Inferno – Run Like Hell Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I'm pretty sure this is inspired by David Berkowitz. Mainly because it sounds an awful like the thoughts of a serial killer and the whole "I'll start killing when the dog starts asking to" line. Amazing song, nonetheless. :-) | |
| Shabutie – Star Cecil Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It's about Claudio Kilgannon saying goodbye to Star Cecil after he's told to go away because he being The Crowing only brings more trouble (Onstantine Priests). Awesome to hear an Amory Wars concept Shabutie songgggg! | |
| Coheed and Cambria – Elf Tower, New Mexico Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song reminds me an awful lot of The Hearshot Kid Disaster, probably because they mention New Mexico in there, too. I think this originally contributed to the Amory Wars story, but Claudio cut it. It seems to me that "Staile" was once a character, but of course he doesn't appear anywhere else in the story. I guess we'll never knowww. | |

EDIT TO MY POST!!! I did my best to notice When the call came down the line Up to the platform of surrender I was brought but I was kind (I think that this means that a person is on the verge of death in a hospital bed, and they are distracted by thoughts when he "begins to see the light", or when "he's being called for his judgment)") |

Forgive me if this interpretation has already been mentioned, but this is what I just came up with. I did my best to notice When the call came down the line Up to the platform of surrender I was brought but I was kind (When I heard this, I thought that it was about a person dying and being taken to be judged at the gates of heaven.) And sometimes I get nervous When I see an open door Close your eyes, clear your heart Cut the cord (I interpret this as the person knowing they will die and getting scared when they see an opened door because it reminds them of the mystery of what will happen after they die. Then, death takes the person.) Are we human or are we dancer? My sign is vital, my hands are cold And I'm on my knees looking for the answer Are we human or are we dancer? (So, the person is dead and they are being judged and they reflect on humanity as a whole, and they break people down into two different subgroups: Human and Dancer. Human being an individual who expresses emotion and personality through their individual actions and words, and they do things in their own individual way, while Dancer is someone who is robotic, who acts like everyone else, kind of like a follower, but there are the creators of the different "Dances" or the different ways that emotion and personality are expressed and different ways things are done. What is meant by "My sign is vital", I think, is that the person feels that who he was is finally important, since the definition of a sign is something that represents something else, I think that his cold, lifeless body is representing who he was. And by, "My hands are cold", I think that he/she is alluding back to the fact that they're dead, and that death represents who they were in life. And "I'm on my knees, looking for the answer" means that he searching desperately, as if his passing into Heaven depends on it...) Pay my respects to grace and virtue Send my condolences to good Hear my regards to soul and romance They always did the best they could And so long to devotion It taught me everything I know Wave goodbye, wish me well You've gotta let me go (I take all of this take as the person failing their judgment to get into Heaven, and so, they're going to Hell. Also, when I think of them saying so long to devotion, it makes me think that the person devoted more time to their work and less time on the people who cared about him. He's saying goodbye.) Are we human or are we dancer? My sign is vital, my hands are cold And I'm on my knees looking for the answer Are we human or are we dancer? (Again, reflecting on the question.) Will your system be alright When you dream of home tonight There is no message we're receiving Let me know, is your heart still beating? (I think that this is referring to the person thinking of a loved one. They are wondering if their death will have ANY effect on the the loved one they never paid mind to, who is in the hospital, sleeping. And, the person feels that they aren't getting anywhere with their analysis of the world and their reflection on life, "There is no message we're receiving", and since it says "we're", it could be referring to the other souls who've failed their judgment, and it could be because they haven't learned anything or gotten anything out of their analysis of the world or reflection on life. And as for the last line, "Let me know, is your heart still beating?", they want to know if their loved one can still go on without them.) Are we human or are we dancer? My sign is vital, my hands are cold And I'm on my knees looking for the answer Are we human or are we dancer? (Still reflecting.) You've gotta let me know (He needs to know this answer) Are we human or are we dancer? My sign is vital, my hands are cold And I'm on my knees looking for the answer Are we human or are we dancer? (In the end, his question is still unanswered) |

***EDIT*** certain fads, stripes and plaids, singles ads they run you hot and cold like a rheostat, i mean a thermostat so you bite on a towel hope it won't hurt too bad (I think that this part means that all of the different guys that she meets in her lifetime, govern her life, no matter how ugly and she can't block them out or control them, like a rheostat controls electricity, so instead she is compared to a thermostat which is completely governed. But through all of these bad relationships, she sticks it out and tolerates it, and hopes that the next won't be as bad as the last.) |

I think that this song is about a girl in an unhealthy relationship, meaning her boyfriend/husband/significant other has committed domestic violence and she meets someone else who helps her. my dewy-eyed disney bride, what has tried swapping your blood with formaldehyde? (Meaning, the person helping her is developing feelings for her, "MY dewy-eyed disney bride", asks her who has tried to hurt/kill her) monsters? whiskey-plied voices cried fratricide! (She explains that she didn't want to say anything, out of fear for her brother's safety. Or, that her brother and a drunk boyfriend scuffled and the boyfriend had intentions to kill.) jesus don't you know that you could've died (you should've died) with the monsters that talk, monsters that walk the earth (I take this as the girl praying, telling Jesus that he shouldn't have wasted his time on people, "monsters that talk, monsters that walk the earth", since she's feeling that the people are cruel and that she can't get help from anyone) and she's got red lipstick and a bright pair of shoes and she's got knee high socks, what to cover a bruise (Both of these, I think, are referring to the girl attempting to cover up the abuse) she's got an old death kit she's been meaning to use she's got blood in her eyes, in her eyes for you she's got blood in her eyes for you (I think that this whole part means that she want revenge on this lover/boyfriend/whatever) certain fads, stripes and plaids, singles ads they run you hot and cold like a rheostat, i mean a thermostat so you bite on a towel hope it won't hurt too bad (I think that this part means that people and the outside world govern her life, no matter how ugly and she can't block them out or control them, like a rheostat controls electricity, so instead she is compared to a thermostat which is completely governed. So she comes to the conclusion, or the person helping her tells her, that she needs to just take all of the things that come at her, good or bad, and hope that these things don't do more harm to her.) my dewy-eyed disney bride, what has tried swapping your blood with formaldehyde? what monsters that talk, monsters that walk the earth (He, meaning the helper, asks her again who has hurt her/tried to kill her. He asks who the people/person were/was that did this to her.) and she says i like long walks and sci-fi movies if you're six foot tall and east coast bred some lonely night we can get together (She wants to develop a relationship with this guy who is helping her.) and i'm gonna tie your wrists with leather and drill a tiny hole into your head (The guy helping her replies that he is going to never let her go, "I'm gonna tie your wrists with leather", for her own safety and for the safety of the boyfriend. And he is going to help her, "drill a tiny hole into your head". I say "drill a tiny hole into your head", means helping because, when there is blood flowing into your skull from a head wound, it causes inter cranial pressure, and to release the pressure, doctors drill a small hole into the skull to let out the blood and relieve the pressure, which is also referring back to how "she had blood in her eyes for you". So he is going to help her get over this, and make her hatred dissipate.) |

| Fall Out Boy – Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sorry for double post, but I need to clarify something. Fall Out Boy say that they don't consider themselves emo, they were originally punk and they say that they wish to stay that way. However, since the release of Infinity on High, they've been seen more as a Pop type of band. But I wouldn't consider them emo...But maybe they went on the notion that some of their songs from previous albums were kind of "emoish". Just some thoughts. | |

"Imperfect Boys With Their Perfect Lives, Nobody Wants to Hear You Sing About Tragedy" That's definitely a shutdown to emo music in some way shape or form. Whether they're referring to themselves or other bands is yet to be decided on my part. |
