for me this song is not about a death but the death of a persons happiness as the world hurts them, ['melancholic' 'world isnt nice to little things"] the loved person [parents use of biko] has been taken away from kele through their depression - therefor is 'dead' to kele, but kele will not give up hope or love yet realises he cannot himself pull biko out of this but can only try to convince him to 'toughen up' and let him know they are together, there is only so much kele can do.[If I could eat your cancer I would but I can't] yet he dose try to make him happy by showing him he loves him through his music [grey=state of depression] resist i think refers to resisting sadness that after a while can become almost addictive |
