I think this song is about a guy breaking up with his girl and regretting it. He's asking her to give him another chance and telling her he won't fuck up again by saying this time he'll stay for good, but she's married now, hence, "You have a new name now." In short I think this song is about a break-up, regret, and jealousy. |

No one looks at these lyrics close enough. Everyone thinks that it's about a transvestite, but there are lyrics that give away that the singer was actually gay. "Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls. It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world, except for Lola." He's clearly saying that Lola is not a transvestite right here. Also, "Well I left home just a week before, and I never ever kissed a woman before, Lola smiled and took me by the hand, she said, "Little boy, gonna make you a man." He said he's never kissed a woman before (gay). AND IF YOU'RE STILL NOT SATISFIED, "Well I'm not the world's most masculine man, but I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man, so is Lola." People interpret the "so is Lola" line as though he's saying Lola is also a man, when in fact he's really saying that Lola is also glad he is a man. |
