i think the line "cruel professor studying romances" means that in one of his classes, he's studying romantic novels or something and is reminded of love, which is painful for him because he's dealing with the other issues in the song, aka having to pretend he doesn't love the girl. What I get from the song is that perhaps he's sleeping with a girl he likes who's already involved, hence why he has to pretend he doesn't want to see her, and why he has to wake up, put his shirt on, and leave unseen. |

I think this song has to do with taking advantage of someone that you're just friends with. You're really attracted to them sexually but don't want anything serious with them. |
