| Cute Is What We Aim For – Loser Lyrics | 17 years ago |

well the "loser can win whenever he wants to" means you might consider someone a loser but they win or beat you if they bring you down or influence you negatively. i think the verses are satyrical, they arent all meant to be taken literally, but meant to make you think about religion and morality "A read it, a man, up in a room Can't control everything I do But what do I know? What do I know? And if the story of the man isn't true Then tell me what I should do Should I take off the blindfold? Or do what I'm told?" here he is saying you shouldn't believe something just because you read it, because people tend to accept religion and take it for fact just because they read it, and they are blind to other options. "Is morality real to me? I cannot believe in what I cannot see Oh no, I will not be sold (I will not be sold) The world has this ability to make a life look sweet Oh no, this can't be complete (this can't be complete)" in my opinion this looks like he is saying that morality and religion are different this verse is taking the point of view of someone that is rejecting doing the right thing because they can't visibly see why they should. the world has the ability to make a life look sweet, like it glamorizes an immoral person in a magazine. but he thinks that there is more in life than looking good, such doing the right thing then he ends saying that noone will know until the end. in the song he is looking at different people and trying to get them to look at themselves and make their own decisions rather than following either a book telling them what to do (like the bible) or tv/magazines telling them who to look up to or who to strive to be. |
