| Passion Pit – I've Got Your Number Lyrics | 16 years ago |

i think this is about the vulnerability of falling in love. his scared if things get emotionally deeper, but his able to rely on his partner to pick him up again. he sets the impression in the first and second paragraph about how he does feel lonely, and after laying eyes on her, it was love wherein getting her number was the first step to things eventuating -- he is uncertain how it'll turn out, but he stays optimistic. the chorus, i reckon, is the most beautiful part of this song. he states that his tears fall down as fast as falling in love. the way i understood this was that, even w/ love's many ups and downs, he believes "a homerun crack at love" is worth it all. the last verse, he questions whether he can continue doing this -- keeping the relationship going. but states that, whenever he fails to, she's there to keep it going. i really this line: "But when I started losing hope, there you were, there you bloomed". this is how i feel right now lol. |
