| Ferras – Hollywood Is Not America Lyrics

Oh mah gawd I love Ferras's voice!!! It's so clear and pure and beautiful and open... and I love the falsetto!! Another thing I love about him is the fact that he plays piano... it seems like most pop artists' music centers around a guitar. And he's so AMAZING at playing it, everyone should go to youtube and watch him perform this song on the today show... just him and the piano, so beautiful!!
Oh and the song's not bad either ;) |

I wouldn't put it past him either but in this case I don't think he's talking about the actual moon, because of how he says she's the world and he can only give her the language of a lover; I don't think he's dating the moon. |

Okay, so I posted the lyrics to this song because I don't understand it, and I was hoping somebody would interpret it. Anyone? Does this guy think he's no good and so he can get a girl to love him, but he knows she'll hate him later or something? I don't get it. |

I think I like this song best on his not-so-good album...
Anyway, I'm sure this song is about a girl that he saw in the front row of any concert he was giving during Idol or something. He thought she was beautiful and felt like he was singing only for her and there was no one else in the audience. He wanted to stop singing and just talk to her but he knew she was only there to hear the music (since it WAS a concert...) and so he had to keep singing so she would stay, and the best he could do to be near her was to reach out his hand so she, along with a bunch of other fans, could touch it. Probably not about a girl in particular, just any number of girls he thought were pretty while he was on Idol.
In case anybody out there couldn't figure it out... lol

About stripper thing... I don't think the fact that he talks about him being a pole for his girl makes her a stripper. I just think he wrote that because it sounded good and fits into the meaning of the song. He's not actually singing about a stripper with a pole. He just is expressing how he feels about how hot his girl is and what she makes him want them to do together. |

There are a lot of comments on this song, so I don't know if my exact interpretation has been mentioned yet, but...
Where it says, "You won't be seventeen forever, and we can get away with this tonight," I think the meaning is that the girl is underage but the guy is saying she won't be underage forever, and so it's not a big deal if they have sex right now... they can get away with it tonight, just this once. He's saying why wait? |

Well, it's pretty obvious what this song is about... just about what it's like to be a "country boy", polite and such, helping people get around and stuff. However, whenever I hear it on the radio I always feel like it's a dirty song... "Climb in my bed, I'll take you for a ride... I can take you where you want to go... Buckle up, I'll take you through the five speeds." Eh? |
