I agree. It is a town that is his foundation. The place he is little Neil. I think we all have them. We go back and we turn 10 years old again. We just can't stay. We have to move on, be who we were intended to be. We need this place and we need to visit it every so often to remind ourselves of who we are and where we came from. It is a respite to moving on. We leave something we love because there is something better and where we need to be. But what a beautiful picture he paints with his words. Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless |

| Neil Young – A Man Needs A Maid Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Dude, you hit the nail on the head. Until Neil met Pegi, his love life was a charted course in misery. He doesn"t sing this song or Birds anymore. He doesn"t sign The Bridge or Love in Mind. They were pre-Pegi. He was always searching for real love but coming up empty. I do have to agree with Bob Dylan andnot you (sorry we all have our opinions) and say it is one of his most beautiful arrangements. I love Neil and I ammost happy that his life is in order. He is a great person, not just a great artist. | |
| Neil Young – Tired Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is the most gut renching cold as early morning song Neil as ever done. It is his emotions flayed open for all to see. He is raw and real. It' Neil at his best on his (arguably) best album. In everyday life, I so often want to turn to my 16, 17 & 18 year old children in my best emotional Neil Young voice and say OPEN UP YOUR TIRED EYES! | |
| Neil Young – California Sunset Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is the artist pondering his circumstance in life. How did I get here? Why did I choose this place or why did this place choose me? He is giving thanks for where he is at the time of writing. Neil lives in a beautiful part of the bay area in California. He loves California and giving his thanks to this beautiful state. I can relate coming from a cold state to California. It is the GOLDEN STATE! | |
