| Tori Amos – Code Red Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| "What you stole I could have given freely" I believe is referring to love, her heart. Like she gave her heart and feelings of a possibly chance and he took it and fucked her over. | |
| Gavin Rossdale – Frontline Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Obviously a letter from a soldier at war to his loved one. | |
| Gavin Rossdale – This is Happiness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I remember reading Gavin wrote this song basically as one of those times in life where you feel everything is perfect and just going okay and great for you and that truly is happiness. You're wondering why and where this happiness came from to make you feel like this, but you're allowing yourself to just dig and dive in and enjoy it for what it is and it just overwhelms you that you love it. I believe his fav NY was suppose to be a moment of his when he went to NY which was a fav place of his and everything was going perfect for him that day, like finding the right parking at the exact right time. | |

| Freakin' LOVE this song! | |
| Bush – Personal Holloway Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this song is about going into your mind to contain yourself and keep yourself closed in from the world. You try to see in rose colored glasses to alter the way you see things and ways to make yourself feel better. In trying to move forward, you become deaf and dumb like people around you, but inside you still feel alone and jailed. | |
| Bush – Headful of Ghosts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about feeling distant and away from home, whether it be a physical plane such as a place or mentally. You feel lost where you're not and it's starting to really bug and get to you. The ghost is the memory of what home and your comfort zone was and you're asking it to help you feel that way again. | |
| Bush – Out of This World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Something about this song just makes me think it's about finding some way to accept death and let yourself go and become a memory. When you're relieved from this world, that's when you're finally at peace and in a way alive and home, in the thoughts and arms of those who love us. As a memory, you want to be remember and be able to have people smile and move on with their life but still keep you in mind. By saving the memory of the deceased, you're keeping them alive. | |
| Bush – Distant Voices Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I always found this song to be about finding strength in yourself and just letting yourself go for it. Sure, there's a risk of possibly failing, but you gotta take that step at some point. If you do fail, you sometimes have the right and the pride to know that you actually went for it and that makes you shine on for a bit. You're no longer really thinking about "should I or what if?" Before you were just there imagining what to do, not anymore. | |
| Bush – Cold Contagious Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| For some reason, every time I think of this song I imagine it being about a parent treating a child wrong and coming back to fix things but the child is still bitter and hurt by everything that happened in the past and can't find anything in them to forgive and doesn't see the person really changed at all. Even if the person isn't even trying to fix anything, that person in pain still feels hurt and this is their way of letting that frustration out. | |
| Bush – Fugitive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Gosh, I just love this song so darn much! | |
| Institute – Secrets And Lies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| About transforming to become someone else, pretending, etc. Due to the terror of things around you, you try to adapt to survive but it's not really you and you struggle to keep everything in so you're crying inside. I think the "kill youth with easy listening" is about getting rid of your innocence and what made you you but due to listening and believing things around you, you lie to yourself and keep your true self a secret eventually killing that youth/innocence inside. | |
| Institute – Seventh Wave Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think this is about living and the fact that death is ahead of us. When you die, all you've basically left is a memory and a few other things. The flood and the end of time is the death of you and we're all just little fragments in a long life strand of the world. Living and death happens every single day because it is real life and it's repetitive. Sure, you wouldn't wish it on someone to die but it happens. | |
| Institute – Wasteland Lyrics | 17 years ago |

For some odd reason, I made a video to this song and it takes place after my video for 40 Miles from the Sun. Heh. But anyway... I think this song is about finding happiness and love in a messed up and corrupted world. There's so much things around you that messes up the chances of being with someone and/or feeling s sense of happiness, people in your business, etc etc. So you need to find a sense of space from everything to find your love in the wasteland that's all around you. |

For some reason I've always felt this song was just Gavin getting back into the scene of music making and all that. "Cool to disappear but I missed you more each days And all the tattooed angels have brought me back today" He was gone from the music scene and missed it along with the fans and the new bandmates, the tattooed angels, brought him back into making some good ol' music. Heh. |

| Bush – Greedy Fly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I find this song to actually be about suicide. The lyrics really seem to reflect a lot of imagery of it and of a person depressed and at the edge of their limits but can't make up their mind on whether he should go through with it or not. "Do you feel the way you hate, do you hate the way you feel Always closest to the flame, ever closer to the blade" A lot of people who contemplate suicide thinks about it why? A lot of times the hate for something, the hate for how they're feeling or something about them. A common imagery of suicide is the razor blade. According to beliefs, what happens when one commits suicide? You go to hell. "Always closer to the flame" "I am poison crazy lush, built these hands to lift me up We are servants to our formulaic ways" Due to being so down, there's that need to change things around you, but it just doesn't help. Everyone is still the same, everything you deal with is still the same and it's frustrating. You still feel like you're poison and just crap. "Limbo this and limbo that, you were this and you were that Ever know that what you fear is what you find This Indian summer I signed my life away There's a greedy fly in here and I fly away" I see this part basically as in that mode of thinking where you don't think anymore. You're just numb. You've thought about what you've hated and may not enjoy seeing people in a certain mode, but you've reached that breaking point. You're greedy because you don't have what you want as you just watch everyone and everything around you. You take the final plunge, sign your life away by finally committing the act and now you're gone. |
