I think he is basicaly saying that we, as a species and as a people are doing the wrong thing and that we are all going to die. "Go drill your deserts, go dig you graves. Then fill your mouth with all the money you have saved." "Oh, there are cracks in the road we laid. But where the temple fell." The lyric "But no-one else can see, the preservation of the martyr in me." means that he is willing to die to save us and he has worked hard to preserve this idea, but no-one else sees.(hence the lyric) The lyric "The limits of the dead!" means that we can't undo what we have done when we are dead, so we must act now before we all die. PS. I also believe it is spelled reign instead of rain because this would mean that those who rule u(i.e. the government) are driving us into the ground. |
