The Posted Lyrics are off. These are the real ones from the CD packet... "Now we're back with a bang, with a new mate to add to the gang We took their ship and sunk them fast, but that war... is in the past/ And now the time has come, to show them exactly what we've become because we are the ones who stand strong and choose not to run Let's forge our names, we do this every day we make our own way, and take what you can't give All that we've done before is in the past This is what we've become, so come now. Well I'm three sheets to the wind and my world is spinning We take what we want and get what we need Whats yours is mine if you like it or not You better hide your daughters cuz we're on our way home So much to gain and nothing to lose this life is ours but we'll take yours too Map of the world, take us far from here We're coming home and no one can stop us Map of the world, take me home... Pirates life for me (x2) Well I'm three sheets to the wind and my world is spinning We take what we want and get what we need Whats yours is mine if you like it or not You better hide your daughters cuz we're on our way home So much to gain and nothing to lose this life is ours but we'll take yours too Yo Ho Pirates life for me! (x2) I'll find wealth in the things I gain and you will find that you've lost your way. |

| In Fear and Faith – There Be Pirates Among These Seas Lyrics | 17 years ago |

| apparently he still is a "loser" cuz Cody bashed him pretty hard at a show I went to a couple days ago. Maybe he was joking but I kinda doubt it. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Song 10 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This is a load of horse crap. They're Christians themselves but they do not consider themselves a christian band. To me that shows the exact opposite of what you're trying to say. Their songs are not devoted to god but they may (OR MAY NOT) be influenced by their faith. | |

| As I Lay Dying – Meaning In Tragedy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I play guitar, know pretty much all the riffs, they KIIINDA sound similar, but they're nothing alike when you actually see the notes or learn how to play them. Meaning in Tragedy is 10000 times more complicated. Darkest Nights is one of their simpler songs. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Empty Hearts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"i've watched them build upon these empty hearts false hopes of lossless paradise gathering together the dead hearts beat as one stillborn comfort feeding lies through answers of self denial divided between a dissolute self and the sorrow of sincere devotion what is it that you find peace in now? where is your hope in this dark night?" This one is pretty easy for me to figure out. It's about how we chase after temporary or meaningless objects and goals while we ignore what should really be important to us. "dead hearts" refers to those who have lost the sense of importance in their lives and live on impulse and without any long term, important aspirations, or have sold themselves out to what others tell them they should become. He points out the greed of our society when he mentions "false hopes of a lossless paradise" and how we think we can turn the planet into paradise without earning it or suffering the consequences of it. |

| As I Lay Dying – The Darkest Nights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| P.S. Lambesis purposely waters down the religiousness of his lyrics to make them more universal. You never know if he is writing about his faith or about his life and he does it on purpose. I personally like it because I'm not a very religious person and it makes the lyrics mean something more to me than if it was just the kind of crap some of the less talented christian lyricists come up with. Tim is probably my favorite lyricist. | |
| As I Lay Dying – The Darkest Nights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| haha. no they don't. In fact they avoid answering that question directly every time they're asked, even though it's obvious that they are, or are at least heavily influenced by it. | |
| As I Lay Dying – The Darkest Nights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it could go either way. He could mean it like he is putting god close to his heart and kind of enfolded in his spirituality. The capital Y doesn't really explain much, because Tim capitalizes "you" every time he writes it. It could just be bad grammar, but I sort of doubt that. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Wrath Upon Ourselves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Its day, not stand. | |
| As I Lay Dying – Comfort Betrays Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It actually isn't. Tim says people ask him this all the time and he just laughs about it. Clint left on good terms with the other guys. I think he got married and started a family or something like that. I have no clue what the song actually is about. Knowing AILD its symbolic of the corporate world or something like that. That would be my guess. | |
| As I Lay Dying – An Ocean Between Us Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Tim Lambesis says this every time he's asked what the lyrics mean. It's about the difference between what we want to make of our lives, and what other people expect us to want to make of our lives. Not everyone wants to grow up and be a millionaire. Once you hear it the lyrics make perfect sense. |

| As I Lay Dying – Confined Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song isn't about god or religion... not directly anyway. It's about how we find ourselves being lured into meaningless pursuits that in the end won't be worth our efforts. the "in the confines of these gray walls/ I watched them move together/Taking me places I cannot remember" is Lambesis's description of life on the road. The tour bus takes him so many places he will eventually forget, and those transient pursuits will never amount to anything truly worthwhile in Lambesis's mind. This song is mainly about humankind's tendency to follow emotions rather than what, in the end, will truly be best for ourselves and/or everyone. "we have been poured out into this loveless bridge, how quickly i forget that this is meaningless" is an analogy of how much we exert ourselves over meaningless trials when they aren't worth the effort in the first place. | |
