To me, it just seems like a very manipulative person. A sociopath, if you must. They always get what they want and don't care by what means they have to do so. I also see it as the sociopath's way rubbed off an someone else and now they're just as good as them at manipulation. Maybe the person was the only one who knew what the sociopath was really like and they're coming back for revenge. That's how I would explain the who changing from "he never stood a chance" to the "I never stood a chance" I think the person knows they're both gonna fuck each other over. It's a very fun sarcastic song. |

Okay I can really relate to this song. I agree with a lot of the people above me but here's the specific meaning it has to me. I was friends with this guy whom I was very attracted to. He was attracted to me too. When we first became friends he didn't have a gf so we would flirt a lot and I came to really love him. Then he got a gf. I decided I wanted to respect that fact, but he continued talking to me like nothing had changed. So we basically carried on with our emotional relationship and probably would've carried on with our physical one had we not lived so far away from each. Things would happen and we would totally ignore them, as if it were completely normal. Until I told him we couldn't do that anymore, it wasn't right, to ANY of us. So we would agree to just 'be friends' and of course that would never last very long because next thing you knew we were finding loopholes. "To some we seem like colder creatures Well, we were warm until we went to hell" To me those are very strong lyrics. They basically say that people thought us horrid monsters while we were over here saying we wanted to go to the same hell. "Cast the first stone Let's pretend that we don't have a past The worst one Forbid, forbid, forget that you exist" I really wanted out, so 7 months ago I had left him telling him "to forget I ever existed" but that proved to be the worst thing for the two of us because I simply couldn't forget and well just the other day he contacted me and I think we're never going to escape this vicious cycle. It's like an hourglass, once it's done on one side, you just flip it over and it starts all over again. Haha but yeah that's how I see this song. |

The lines "and I've had reoccuring...better man" totally hit home to me because I used to know a guy who was like that. He was a bastard, he went around doing shit with reckless abandon, he always did things selfishly and only thought of himself and yet I loved him (and many others did too.) Because I loved him as he was and never second guessed his motives, he never even tried to change. He stayed the same because hey why break out of your comfort zone in an awkward attempt to change if you're loved the way you are? I think those lyrics perfectly portray someone who isn't a good person but who has charm and wit to get them by. Its like the old saying 'everyone loves a rebel.' |

Yeah I agree with the alice in wonderland disco idea. I was reading party monster when this song first came out so it always reminds me of the club kids haha. Also 'heads will roll' reminds me of when people are on x and they 'roll' :/ |

| Fall Out Boy – Tiffany Blews Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Well y theory on the title is that it does indeed allude to Breakfast At Tiffanys. If you read the title outloud it reads 'Tiffany Blues', maybe Peter didnt want to make it so effin obvious so he used 'blews' instead. In the movie, Audrey Hepburn's character Holly loves to go to Tiffany's because she loves the way she feels there, she feels at home. Holly Golightly: You know those days when you get the mean reds? Paul Varjak: The mean reds, you mean like the blues? Holly Golightly: No. The blues are because you're getting fat and maybe it's been raining too long, you're just sad that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling? Paul Varjak: Sure. Holly Golightly: Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany's. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name! Maybe that has something to do with the meaning of the song. |

okay when I heard this song it totally hit home, definetely one of my favorites off of FAD if not my favorite. I'm a young one stuck in the thoughts of an old ones head when all the other ones were just stirring awake I'm trying to trick myself to fall asleep again Basically I think this is saying that he's too wise for his age, he's been through a lot so while other have peaceful thoughts all he can do is think of the past and it leaves him restless My head's in heaven My soles are in hell Let's meet in the purgatory of my hips and get well I think this is brilliant. What's in between your head and your feet? Your hips. Just like what's in between heaven and hell? Purgatory. I think he has a empty relationship with someone and all they do is have sex to get by. Hurry, hurry You put my head in such a flurry, flurry What makes you so special? What makes you so special? I'm gonna leave you I'm gonna teach you How we're all alone I'm pretty sure he says 'oh feckle, feckle' and when something is feckle it's worthless. Which makes complete sense with the name 'we all mean something' because to me it doesn't sound like he's asking admiringly why are you so special? I think he's asking because because he's upset at himself. How could someone who's such a terrible person/slut be special to him? He's telling her that he's gonna leave her so she knows what it's like to be alone. Give me, build me it's your club, so let me in (let me in) knowing you're heartwarming it is inside your skin I think that he loves her and he wishes he didn't. He's asking her to let him in, he's hoping that deep down is the person he really loves. You don't take me places We won't sleep for days We won't sleep for days We pray to the Lord Doesn't sleep or stay Doesn't sleep or stay We waste it all in the back of a long dark car And I'm sunshine machine I want to get stuck I want to get stuck In your memories. I think he's referring to their empty relationship again, how all they do is have sex and it's not really want he wants but he'll settle as long as he can stick around. |
