I agree. Also, why is it that whenever a band say God, god, or Lord they become a christian band? I know atheists that use the expression "oh my God" just because it's a part of our culture. Doesn't mean they're trying to talk to God. |

| Doubt it. Some bands slap that Part 1 on songs and never go back to them, but we had Sybil I and now we have Sybil II, so my guess is we'll see Ben in the next album. | |

I've taken a few Native American classes in college, and I completely agree Klal. Traditional Native Americans see the land as belonging to itself, and see themselves as part of the land. European cultures (with the elaborate gardens we find in nations such as England and France) teach of conquering and owning the land, forcing it to submit and shape it to your desires. |

I love this song, but I like it better by Dispatch (it's performed live on the All Points Bulletin CD). I'd also like to know: why Londontown? |

One of the things that makes our country great is its morals. We try to do the right thing. If we decided to invade Mongolia, I would hope every one of our soldiers would decide to become a concientious objector, because to do so would be evil. If our country became like Hitler's Germany, should soldiers slaughter innocents just because they're ordered to? Also, the "it was a direct order from a superior officer" defense doesn't work in court. The Army expects you to have a good grasp on right and wrong. Unfortunately our government has a dynamic definition of right and wrong, and decided torture wasn't wrong. Past decade really has been a sad chapter in our history... |

This song is the song that my girlfriend and I call our song, so I try to think of it as more of a love song. I agree with zrisher. I don't think the word God is meant to be taken literally, but rather as a metaphor. Saying "you're my God" implies that you worship the person, not that you are literally speaking to God. I believe those of us who are religious may have a greater affinity to find God in this song, much in the same way they are capable of finding God in their lives more often than those of us who aren't religious. Regardless, this is definitely my favorite song. I got to see it performed live too, which they seldom do. |

| This is definitely a song about suicide. At the show I went to in Burlington, VT, Chad dedicated it to the memory of a man from VT who committed suicide a few years ago. His family was at the show, they played it both nights they were there. Its such a beautiful song... | |
