The sounds-transforming-to-music is a great effect, and if you like that, check out Pigeonhed's debut, which was a side project of one of the Soundgarden dudes. Every song begins with some kind of animal sound effect which then becomes the beat of the song, just like T2 and those first wicked 'morphing' graphics of the early 90s. |

Animal Collective on Feels sometimes sound like a slightly more palatable or poppy or more listenable early Mercury Rev. Yerself Is Steam and Boces, both equally brilliant albums, just as weird, but occasionally a little too much ear-shredding white noise in places which detract from what could have been pretty good tunes. Nevertheless there's definitely a link between these and Feels.
