Obviously they wrote this song about me (Nuno did, I mean) We were introduced on my 16th birthday, and boom this song fits perfectly. And it's saying "age ain't nothing but a fucking number so shut the fuck up look the other way if it bugs you because I want to be with her and it's my life, I'll run it the way I want regardless if I'm as old as her parents..." Ahaha. |

Now, I have heard this song many a times, live being my all time favorite. I have met Nuno, who is the reknowned composer of the song. I think that both meanings were intended. Both show not tell in s more symbolic depth and the "Let's have sex, then I'll know you love me" I mean the Extreme boiys were what around 23-25 years old plus or minus a few years. They most likely did not posses a maturity level to think without thinking about sex while composing a love ballad, that would run through most young men's minds--even women. But also I think they had the committment level to realize that more than words is what it somtimes takes, saying is not meaning. They could have been referring to mannerisms, or anything along the lines. So both arguments have truth behind them. But if you pay attention to young Extreme, Nuno in particular, they are very well spoken and do think in depth. Extreme rocks on to this day, parise the lord! |
