The song was written as a tribute to the Harvey family who were slaughtered on New Year's Day in 2006. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Richmond_spree_murders I heard the family were friends with the band and the Patterson was heavily affected by their murders. |

| This is one of my favorite songs. Obviously it is about the Drive By Truckers touring hard through some rough times. I have heard rumors about the man they thought about killing in Kansas City but don't know the truth for sure. The "Jenn" referred to is the band's friend/webmaster. The van they traveled in back then was called "The Freedom" if I remember correctly. | |
