The Dear Hunter – Mustard Gas Lyrics 16 years ago
"With leather skin these eyes decide to haunt you"

I think it's "these eyes designed to haunt you."

The Dear Hunter – Vital Vessels Vindicate Lyrics 17 years ago
Wait wait, isn't he going back to where he's from? Or saying bye to Ms. Leading, or the thought of her?

I LOVE how he brings lyrics back, like with 'The flame is gone, the fire remains' and 'Everything you live and die for, all the reasons leading you through here'

The Dear Hunter – City Escape Lyrics 17 years ago
I think "The river rendered the chance she surely needs to stay alive" definitely means that she almost drowned in the river, because the music stops after that line, and it almost sounds like Ms. Terri is underwater with the pitch dropping, and then regains consciousness when the pitch comes up again.

The Dear Hunter – The Church and the Dime Lyrics 17 years ago
At atleast one point in this song he is in The Dime and observing everything that's going on there. I think that when he says "Faster, save me. Harder, I can't.." He's opposed to everything going on. In the pimp and the priest, the sentence is finished: "Faster, save me. Harder, I can't breathe." I think this shows that he's finally seeing or trying it for himself.

The Dear Hunter – The Oracles on the Delphi Express Lyrics 17 years ago
These..oracles or what-have-you know EXACTLY where he's coming from, almost as if they have seen this type of case before? They're basically telling him to change his values and priorities, because where he's going he's going to be out of luck with his current attitude.

"When the bombs go off you'll know right where you are"

These oracles definitely know something that they're not telling him.

The Dear Hunter – The Lake and the River Lyrics 17 years ago
"His branches reached so far before
His leaves were bold extremities with great control
Wasted along; he died alone"

I think that's about the boy's father that he never knew, yet this unknown man had such control over how the boy would live his life.

"You'll believe what you're led to believe
In the hands of ghosts we're never responsible
Wait to see what you're meant to see
The veil lifts when you expose your soul"

Sort of foreshadowing how much the boy is about to find out about his mother that he never REALLY knew. Also, his mother, who is now dead, would hypothetically be a ghost, so he'll realize that he's not responsible for the lies he's been fed all his life.

Is any of that good?
