Parachute – The Mess I Made Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it could be either of those things. He could have written it for someone he let go (I shouldve said you're name) because he never took that chance (I should've held my ground). "Staring at the mess I made" could be his leftover life. The aftermath of realising he let her go, and she isn't going to come back.

Or

He could be talking about something he screwed up on. He had a great girl, who he thought he loved, but he did something dumb, and that dumb thing is what led him to realise he really does love this girl but that It's too late. The mistake was too large (It's falling down as you walk away) and he's left to live with what he's done.

Counting Crows – Come Around Lyrics 17 years ago
I love this one.
Its finally coming to terms with everything
and finally saying "Hey, we made it through all that, so we'll keep on making it"
Its a great way to end the album
(if you don't have the bonus tracks that is)

Counting Crows – Insignificant Lyrics 17 years ago
I saw an interview with Adam and he said it was about a man standing on the edge of a building wanting to be so much more than he was.
In some ways it was about Adam's own life, those days where you just want to scream to see if anyone will listen to you.

Its my favorite song on the entire album.

I saw an interview with Adam and he said it was actually about his move to LA and everything they wanted/expirienced/where they were heading.

Counting Crows – When I Dream of Michelangelo Lyrics 17 years ago
Its about reaching for the impossible
and never seeing the things that were actually in your reach
until it is too late.

Counting Crows – On Almost Any Sunday Morning Lyrics 17 years ago
Its about regretting your Saturday nights.
You're finally seeing things you didn't see before
and wish you could change it
but it's too late to go back
so you've got to just deal with what you've done
and move on.
