I think this song is about fantasy and introspection. Some people use fantasy as a defense mechanism. I do this thing quite often where I'll play out a scenario in my head. Like hitting on a girl. I'll say something like "aside from being sexy what else do you do for a living" I'll fantasize about her responding and laughing. I've been doing it ever since I was a little kid. Also I've isolated my self from my friends and family. But all that time not being around people I've spent educating myself. I think those are the feelings he is trying to express with songs like starchild and sleeping stars. |
