All Time Low – Painting Flowers Lyrics 16 years ago
Maze, maze, what is this place?
I hear voices over my shoulder
Nothing's making sense at all
Wonder why do we lay
When every day we're running in circles?
Such a funny way to fall
Try to open up my eyes
I'm hoping for a chance to make it all right

When I wake up
The dream isn't done
I wanna see your face and know I made it home
If nothing is true,
What more can I do?
I am still painting flowers for you
Whoa

Sold my cards, gave you my heart
Wish we could start all over
Nothing's making sense at all
Tried to open up my eyes
I'm hoping for a chance to make it all right

When I wake up
The dream isn't done
I wanna see your face and know I made it home
If nothing is true,
What more can I do?
I am still painting flowers for you
I am still painting flowers for you

I heard everything you said
I don't wanna lose my head

When I wake up
The dream isn't done
I wanna see your face and know I made it home
If nothing is true,
What more can I do?
I am still painting flowers for you
I am still painting flowers for you
I am still painting flowers for you

This song reminds me so much of There For Tomorrow.

All Time Low – Weightless Lyrics 16 years ago
Saying that you're afraid one of your favorite bands is changing their direction and sounding more "poppy" doesn't mean you don't respect what they're doing.
Personally, I'll like ATL no matter what they do, because they're ATL, but if they started leaning a lot towards the "pop" side of pop-punk, I'd probably listen to them less because that's not really the music I'm into. And obviously, I want them to keep making music that I'm into (doesn't mean they have to stay the same, just not getting too radio-friendly/poppy) so I'd be a little upset if they didn't. Sure, it's selfish, but it's human to feel that way.

This song did have me a little nervous at first though, but once Alex said the word "fuck," I knew it was going to be okay, haha.

All Time Low – Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't) Lyrics 16 years ago
This song's okay. Nothing special. But I have high hopes for the rest of the record.
I hope it's better than SWIR, though. I mean, SWIR wasn't bad, but it was nothing compared to The Party Scene/Put Up Or Shut Up aside from a couple of tracks.

No, "bend" makes more sense.
The songs about *not* wondering what you could have been, so he wouldn't be saying to do that, lol.

Every Avenue – Boys Will Be Boys Lyrics 16 years ago
"We saw the summer night,
We drank down the sober sky
Left our mark into the concrete
Burned up all our tires sleeping
Words flow as we are fading
Watch the canvas become our painting
Not all roads lead to Rome
'Cause this one leads to the hell back home"
-This part makes me think of touring ("burned up all our tires sleeping" - sleeping in the van)
But maybe it's about coming home from tour ("'cause this one leads to the hell back home")

"Oh, oh, ooh, this is what we do"
-Makes me think of the title "Boys Will Be Boys"
Like, that's just how they are, they can't help it

"You can say, it's wasted ignorance.
But we're okay, just living in the wreckage."
-Ignorance is bliss, maybe?

"Don't you get the wrong impression
It's just business with the worst intentions"
-This one confuses me. Maybe trying to say it's not as bad as you think it is?

"We felt the floor fall out
And, well, I guess it's too late now
Guess we'll just count our losses
Fix it no matter what the cost is"
-Basically, something went wrong, and it's "too late now" to go back and fix it, so they just have to work on it from where they already are.

"Lie down with a view
Fell asleep ontop of the roof
Remember when the sky turned orange
Or was it black the night before?"
-Not sure about this part. It just kind of sounds like reminiscing, but I'm sure the part about the sky being orange or black means something.
Maybe it's going back to the line about ignorance, where he's ignoring the fact that something's wrong?

As a whole, I think this song is about running away from your problems, and the title "Boys Will Be Boys" is basically saying, it's what he does, it's how he is.

It's "At first WITH the weight of all this pressure I was fine"
Not "let." That doesn't even make sense, lol.

Four Year Strong – Maniac (R.O.D.) Lyrics 16 years ago
I think, to put it simply, this song's about becoming successful and what it takes to get there.

"You gave it up, to give it down
What it was that gave you definition
You'll say for what?
Besides the will to give in to temptation
Think of what your asking for
It's only right that it hurts more than it should
To remain select and understood"
I think this part is about selling out, or changing your ideas/beliefs to make it big.
The person talking says it's good that it cost them a lot to do that, because they shouldn't have. ("It's only right that it hurts more than it should")

"So let me tell you it's cold out there at the top of the world
You look alone and scared with nothing to hold
You're being black and blue when your coulda been gold
So let me tell you it's cold out there at the top of the world"
Now that this person has made it big, or got what they wanted, they're alone. They could've stayed where they were, out have not taken the easy way to get what they wanted and stuck to their beliefs and not sold out, but they did, so they're "black and blue" instead of "gold"
The "black and blue" makes me think of someone getting beat up, too, so maybe they're friends turned on them?

"Here at the top of the world.
I've always heard that the good die young
There's little time left to prove them wrong
You burned the bridge that you walked here on
Here at the top"
Either this is saying that someone who's "bad" will die young, or someone who's "good" will live long, but I think it's the former.
And the "burned the bridge" part is basically saying that this person's stuck where they are now and there isn't a way out.

"Tonight we save the world
Today we have to save ourselves"
Basically, fix yourself before you go on trying to fix things bigger.

"We have to save ourselves from losing on what we pride ourselves on choosing
It's all that's left that we can depend on"
Don't make it so you have to do something. Keep your options.

"But it gets to hard to have an opinion
on the loyalties unspoken and the thoughts that can't be broken"
This part is the one I can't really find words to explain.
Maybe it's hard to have an opinion on things that can't/won't be changed?

I could be wrong, but that's my interpretation, haha.
And did it take anyone else a while to figure out the "R.O.D." in the song title stood for "Rise Or Die"?
Maybe it's just me...

If you listen closely, it sounds like "And I always meant it."
He just draws out the "it" a little.

The All-American Rejects – Real World Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it might be about how a lot of people think the same way, because they're influenced by the media/the news/newspapers/etc. or that some people just don't have opinions at all, and he thinks it's "tragic" ("Am I the only one who thinks it's tragic?").
Basically, I think he's saying that the youth of our country doesn't pay enough attention to what's going on in the world, and that they need to start paying attention.

The line "Have faith in me" is used a couple times in the song "Another Song For The Weekend," too.
It might just be a coincidence, though.

A Day to Remember – I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What are You Made Of? (feat. Mike Hranica) Lyrics 17 years ago
It's no big deal, but I think it'd be more fitting to say "Ahem" instead of "*Cough**Cough*" at the part where he clears his throat, you know?

And you missed the word "you" in the lines "You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand."

Hey Monday – Homecoming Lyrics 17 years ago
The only things Hey Monday and Paramore have in common is their record labels & that they're female-fronted. Other than that, they're nothing alike.

This is one of the only Hey Monday songs I like. Cassaddee's voice gets to me in most of their other songs for some reason. I like this one though. :]
