Jason Mraz – Rainbow Connection Lyrics 16 years ago
How do you figure Jason Mraz is gay? I mean really?
In any case, love this song and it's hippie message. Jason did another version of this song with Paul Williams. I like his solo version best.

Jason Mraz – All Dialed In Lyrics 16 years ago
This seems pretty straight forward to me. He was at his home or maybe the home of a close friend in California, around New Years (Old Land Syne reference), I'm also pretty sure he wrote this smoking pot, just has that air to it. I've never heard this song, I don't know when it was released, my guess would be about the time he was starting to gain recognition. That's all it is, just him feeling connected to the world.

Jason Mraz – Absolutely Zero Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't think she was with anyone else. I think maybe they had a past history, not necessarily, in any case, they were friends, and she likes him, and maybe he likes her. She wants to be with him, but he doesn't want to be with her and he feels guilty for having hurt her.

Damien Rice – 9 Crimes Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't know if this may have been said before, there are just too many comments to read them all. I think - assuming that the song was intended to be a duet originally - it's about cheating like others have said, but it's the voice of both people in the supposed relationship. He cheated/is cheating and she knows about it. I think each stanza has multiple meanings at the same time, it's about inner conflict.
Her part is saying: Just leave me somewhere, like a garbage dump, whatever, because she is really upset about this and she doesn't care what happens to her. She knows she can't stay with him because he cheated, but at the same time she still loves him. It's the wrong place in time for her to be thinking of him because she has to leave him but she doesn't want anybody new. At the same time she is thinking about cheating on him back as revenge, it's the wrong place physically because she is there to pick up a rebound/revenge guy, but she knows this is also wrong. It's a small crime is meant sarcastically, and I think giving your gun away when it's loaded means giving up, she's all loaded up and ready to go and have a fight with him, because fights are important to resolve some problems in a relationship, but their fights are getting them no where and she's too tired to keep fighting in circles with him.
His part is saying: Leave him out with the waste because he is such a jerk for having cheated on her and he regrets having hurt her. It's the wrong place in time to cheat on her because cheating is wrong, and it might not be something he's done to anyone before but he too knows that their fights are leading then nowhere and he already gave up but he was still with her, and this other girl came along, and even though he knew it was wrong he did it anyway to escape the problems (which of course doesn't work like that but people do it anyway). And again it's a small crime is sarcastic, and he has no excuse. Repeat chorus, same meaning.
And that last no, just says it all, it's not okay, and they both ended up hurt, but you can't undo the past and now they are where they are.

I think the video really works with this meaning too. She is broken up over it, but it's sort of easier for him because he was the one that cheated. And I know the video is sort of paying tribute to The Red Balloon, but I think him pulling her head by a string is also symbolic of how he lead her on and maybe also how she's on his mind now.

Or maybe I'm just reading way too deep into it, and this might be bordering on annoyingly long.
