"Let the memory die away" not "Let them every die away" also I'm hearing: "If I called you by mistake" not "If I called you bout to stay" |

| Gomez – Hamoa Beach Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Definitely about being in a relationship too long. The singer is explaining that the subject has a fear of being alone, which is the only thing keeping him in a relationship with a woman he no longer loves. Their love, though beautiful once, has died. The speaker is saying "what are you waiting for? Someone else to take her from you? You'll never let that happen. You have to let her go yourself. It'll give you your life back. You won't feel like the rest of your life is predetermined/effectively over." There's fear of being alone, but the more important fear is the fear of being with someone who you shouldn't be with. |

| Julian Plenti – No Chance Survival Lyrics | 16 years ago |

There's no chance survival, and no hiding place. you must be my rival, I remember your face. a sweeter denial's become familiar to taste there's no chance survival and no hiding place you can live your whole life in a cave, man. you can learn to love uncertainty. And I won't spend my whole life without some cold disregard for the sweet sleep, eternity. may you be praised for all your ways tonight may you be praised by many ages tonight there's no chance survival and no side to take I'd be less than primal with no heart to chase when something so vile has become so commonplace, i know there's no chance survival. to the flesh now we race! and you can expect more gails violence that have blown so far across the good ship, "The Sure-to-Be" we are the golden, we are the strong, static showing the random calls fear the ocean, don't fear the frost don't fear the motion that cosmic toss we are the old ones, we are the lost static showing it comes with a cost: we can do wrong well, your heart and your smile align me. and i make you safe. there's no chance survival, but slow time to waste. "Chance survival" means any survival at all. The song's title might as well be "Certain Death". As in, you CANNOT just have good luck and survive. The song embraces mortality and all things finite, and the speaker courageously accepts the metaphysical notion. He deals with it, and thinks of ways you can do it too (live in a cave or just love the unpredictable nature of life). However, he takes comfort in his lover (the addressee of the song)even though he acknowledges that love, at least love of the flesh, is just a quick fix. Extremely dark subject matter, but somehow an encouraging song, I think. Beautiful stuff. |

| Annuals – Always Do Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Love this one. At first it seems like the singer is vowing to convince someone he loves to love him back, but the more you examine the lyrics the more it seems like he's just bullying his lover into laying him down and doing his bidding. Because he is young and strong and willing to listen, he knows the addressee won't be able to resist him, unless of course (s)he "just ends it" and abandons him completely. | |
