I think it is a family relationship. I think it's probably a father-daughter relationship. Like the running into his arms, little kids tend to run into their parent's arms while they're playing, but also if they're scared or whatever else. I think the "Do I hold you too tightly, when will the hurt kick in?" part is like metaphorically speaking for when the daughter is going to grow up and want him to let go. I think the girl is probably ill from the "there are miracles" part. "When you run away from harm, Will you run back into my arms, Like you did when you were young? Will you come back to me?" She's growing up and he wants her to still count on him like she did when she was a little kid. And then the "Stand where you are. We let all these moments pass us by" part I basically see the father taking a picture of her. |

| As magicindian said, this song was written by Jesse Harris in 1999 (Jesse Harris and The Ferdinandos). He and Norah Jones have known each other for a while and she was on the Late Show with him recently. His version is really good if any of you want to hear the writer's version. And the song does reflect the style of his music much more than Norah's version. He's absolutely adorable and rocks the banjo :) | |

| This song is about him having to see his ex's face everywhere. Since they were on tour together, many fans have a picture with the both of them and they ask him to sign it. Her face is constantly shoved at him and this is about him having that day where you can't face the world. He's amazing :) | |

Well I was going to ask Ely to make sure but I think its straightforward enough for me to get. Basically she's saying she loves him and probably begging for him to come back but she changes her mind and the relationship is really unstable. So then he's wondering why he fell in love and how he let her fool him, then that this is the final goodbye between them. Pretty much its an on-again off-again relationship and he wants it to end. |
