Great song, only one mistake it seems like. In verse two it's: "Open the gates to your waterfall up in heaven" not "do you wanna fall up in heaven". I used to think in verse three he said: "You lonely and depressed, you need a Thug in your life" but after listening closely it sounds like he says "You lonely under pressure". I like lonely and depressed better for some reason |

I agree with you completely vrai. Especially the lines "She could spit in the eyes of fools / As they ask her to focus on" something other than her exaggeratedly important troubles. She regards them with contempt because they aren't thinking about the larger reality. And I think the line "Wonder if he'll ever know / He's in the best selling show" which is directed towards the fictional character emphasizes the complete ridiculousness of wondering if something without consciousness can have self-awareness. thus the following line "Is there life on Mars?" really hits the idea home that we are minuscule creatures floating on hunks of material in space and there is a lot of stuff much, much bigger than individual humans that directs the universe. when we stop thinking about our surroundings, situations, and environment here on earth (or even just outside of earth for orbiting astronauts, for their thoughts are still very much centered on earth and the immediate) and instead ponder what enfolds the universe and how very little we actually know about it, we become more conscious, as if a character from the page of a book were able to think its own thoughts and step off of that page into the real world. sorry for the long post |

some corrections for the sake of mike jones. mike jones is not "up on these tracks about to sell another meal". mike jones does not do meal on wheels. he's about to sell another "mil" which rhymes with "bills" the way he says it, the mil also makes more sense (mil is short for million for those who need it spelled out for them). also mike jones had a million in his bank before "Aylum" bought the deal. Asylum was his record label before he started his own (Ice Age Ice Age!) also the haters don't wanna see the "steel", as in mike jones gat, not some sort of petty theft. finally, mike jones has the key to that "vault" not to that Boss, seeing as how he IS boss. just trying to add some clarity to these lyrics |
