this song is all about sex. duh. hurrah for breathe carolina! however apparently there's debate as to what this "word" is he's talking about. personally i think it could be one of two things: A) love. he's clearly all about the sex here, refusing to let this girl believe he could possibly feel any emotions for her other than lust. so he's not going to lie to her and utter the l-word that she probably wants to hear. B) a safe word of some sort. he's quite controlling with this girl, telling her to put on a show for him, to take off her clothes and let him watch her do all the work. also velvet restraints could be used for some bondage type scenario, which would require use of a safe word. and since he's clearly into banging this girl, he's saying he'd never say the safe word, thus never asking her to stop doing what she's doing. honestly i think it could be both. also something about this song just makes me feel like it's really dirty. like he's either using a girl who is absolutely in love with him, or he's paying some girl for sex. mostly i think it's the first option. |

i'm really into this song. it feels so dark and alluring, which definitely fits the lyrics. i'm thinking it's about how this person knows they're not a good person and they know they shouldn't be with anyone. but they do find someone they're interested in and decided to let them know about all this shit they've done. basically saying "here's the deal, i'm fucked up. so if you want to stay awesome, if not that's cool too. but either way i'm gonna wish you well." |

i really like the titanic interpretation from until_the_end(a7x). but i also feel like this has got a different message too. maybe they're talking about hypocritical conservationists? because they say "And while the world that they built, told 'em to change, told 'em to listen, they just kept it the same." like all these political people, such as Al Gore for example, are telling people to change the way they live because they're destroying our planet and depleting natural resources. but these same people with political power don't bother applying these ideas to themselves. they throw extravagant parties, drive expensive gas guzzling cars, live in large houses that require a lot of energy, and take private planes that use up insane amounts of fuel and money. i mean maybe i'm way off, but avenged is prone to writing about politics so i figured this might be that deeper meaning some of you thought could be there. |
