Nivek Ogre's biggest concern is Empire. Modern imperialism is not headed up by any one state in particular; it's global capitalism in charge of things now. The Capitalists, among other things, wreak havoc on the environment for the purpose of profit / power. And we are the complicit victims. Our refusal to acknowledge what we know, to utilize the methods of learning more, and to put that knowledge into action, allows the Capitalists to continue unabated. We're deluded into a false sense of helplessness. |

This particular part speaks of the methods in which we are all complicit in the screwed up things that go on in the world. We buy the garbage that they sell us, which perpetuates global capitalism. After all, capital is the reason for wars, exploitation, neo-colonialism, et cetera. We have power, but we distance ourselves from the ills that we perpetuate; we pass off responsibility to the companies and the governments without acknowledging our part in the system. |
